Angel of the Deep, Part 1

If you plunge the depths of your subconscious, what will you see? We may never know the answer to that question, but players of our upcoming module Shattered Dreams may encounter the creature shown on the right… that is, if I succeed in constructing and rigging a low-poly version of it. We’ll know for sure in my next blog post.

I can say that after seeing this terrible creature, I'll never, ever dig into my subconscious!

It looks awesome Frank, you're doing a helluva job churning out these models - good luck with the construction and rigging!

My only suggestion: give it knuckles(that way, Giger can cry all the way home--he was rightly disturbed by how the human hand looks).

Thanks for the compliments, E.C. and Jclef, and thanks for the suggestion, Chaos Wielder. I had actually put knuckles on the fingers, although I guess they don't quite look right if they're easy to overlook. I'll try to make some corrections.

What Kind of Creature Are You?

Several days ago, I took a 9-question test at Quiztron called "What Magical Creature Are You?" . It's a multiple-choice personality test of sorts, but I'm certain that it has no scientific basis whatsoever. The Quiztron site lets anybody create their own test, so I think it's safe to say that nearly all of them did not originate from someone with a Ph.D. in Psychology. This particular test was apparently created by a girl who was between 13 to 17 years old when it was posted a little over a year ago. Nevertheless, the test was fun and took me less than a minute to complete. Reading the comments page , I found that possible results included dragon, elven warrior, and werewolf. In computer games, nothing gets a player’s adrenalin pumping more than a great boss fight. If a battle can be likened to a multi-course meal, the boss is the pièce de résistance , the culminating moment to which all other minor encounters lead. There is more to designing a memorable boss encounter than giving the boss far more hit points and damage than most other enemies.
